Ethics and Present-day Laws for Translators and Interpreters with Dr. Alexander Rainof

In a 4-hour in-person course about “Ethics and present-day laws for translators and interpreters,” Dr. Rainof will touch on areas such as language-access rights, standards for court translators and interpreters, medical translators and interpreters, failure to meet or follow ethical canons, and conflicting ethics. Dr. Rainof attended Boston University and Harvard University as an undergraduate and received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Comparative Literature with Highest Distinction. He is a certified interpreter for the Federal, California, and Los Angeles County Courts, as well as for NAJIT and all state agencies in California. An internationally-known scholar, Dr. Rainof has been published extensively in the areas of literature, linguistics, translation, and interpretation.
