National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters Receives NCCA Accreditation.
January, 2013 – The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (National Board), the first program in the U.S. to provide national certification for medical interpreters, is pleased to announce that it has earned the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accreditation.
The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) was created in 1987 by the Institute of Credentialing Excellence (ICE) to help ensure the health, welfare, and safety of the public through the accreditation of a variety of certification programs that assess professional competence. The process for meeting NCCA’s Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs is very rigorous and is the reference for credentialing programs.
