- Presenter: Davor is an ATIF member and a Federal, Georgia, and Florida Certified Court Interpreter.
- Content: this 4-hour workshop will address, among other things, identification, analysis techniques, possible results, types of samples, paternity tests, terminology, and more. A multilingual glossary will be distributed;there is no cost to attend. This presentation will be given in South Florida later on in 2013.
January 18-20 – The International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA) 2013 Annual Conference will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center. It is a joint effort by IMIA, ATIF and the Florida Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (FRID). The IMIA Conference offers 55 workshops for novice and experienced medical interpreters, covering a range of subjects from vocabulary to techniques and advocacy.
January 25-27 – ATA’s Translation Company Division (TCD) will hold its annual conference in Orlando. This year’s conference: “A Recipe for Business Growth-10 Ingredients” is a must for those considering becoming language service providers, as well as for those who already are and wish to learn about market trends, service quality markers, standards and other aspects of the business. The program is available online.
